Monthly Trail Run this Sunday (9/14) --- Portola Redwoods State Park

This Sunday, PARC's Monthly Trail Run ventures deep into the Santa Cruz Mountains directly over the ridge from Palo Alto. I've been called out of town and Kristan Wheeler has stepped forward to lead Sunday's run which is very cool as pretty sure this is the first time our trail runs have had a female leader and I'm sure you'll agree that Kristan is way more fun than David or I ;-).

So pls come out to support her and enjoy these wonderful trails. Also, the Mountain Lion attack in Cupertino last weekend underscores the importance of having company on the trail. PARC's trail run series offers the ideal opportunity to find runners of similar ability and temperament to run with. Kristan recently scouted the trails and reports "Lovely run. There is no water for refills or anything there though. None due to the drought. No sinks, spigots, or toilets that flush. I will be at the carpool spot if anyone needs a ride from there." So consider car pooling and bring water with you!

These totally beautiful trails are well-worth the slightly longer than usual drive from Palo Alto. And, as an added bonus, the trails were improved last year removing much of the trailside poison oak, and providing access to The Big Tree!

When Sunday, September 14, 2014. Meet at 8:20am for an 8:30am start. Carpools will leave promptly at 7:40am from thePark&Ride at 280 and Page Mill Road.

Where Portola Redwoods State Park. Bring $10 per vehicle (exact change) for the parking fee (carpool incentive!).
