Sunday (1/8) - PARC's Monthly Trail Run

PARC's traditional first trail run of the year, in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Saratoga, features spectacular views to the ocean from a surprisingly exposed cliff face as well as many miles of tree sheltered soft forest trail. In most years the waterfall offers a pause early in the run - will it be flowing this year? We have maps to guide an intermediate 6.5-mile route and a slightly more challenging 9.2-mile route -- both routes are quite beautiful.See the Monthly Trail Run webpage for more…See More

Monthly Trail Run - This Sunday December 4th - Wunderlich Park and Buck's!!

I've just updated the details for this Sunday's trail run. This month, instead of a runner's potluck, we will meet at Buck's after the run. Both Buck's and Wunderlich are in nearby Woodside. To help have us together at the same time at Buck's we are staggering the start times. The long run will start at 8:30 (gather at 8:20) and the shorter intermediate run will start at 9:10 (gather at 9:00). Hopefully these split start times will result in both groups finishing at about the same time. Gregg…See More

PARC Monthly Trail Run - Mt. Tam (Bootjack), Saturday, August 6, 2011

Consider joining us for next Saturday's PARC Monthly Trail Run. PARC ran the Dipsea Trail last year and there have been many requests to return to Mt. Tam.  Indeed, we have been invited to join the friendly trail runners of BARF (Bob & Rick's Fun runs) next weekend as they enjoy one of their favorite routes on the upper slopes of Mt. Tam. BARF typically turns out 20 or so runners and so we will have plenty of company for this run. Rifle Camp, Hoo-Koo-E-Koo, Bootjack, Colier Spring, Potrero…See More

PARC Monthly Trail Run - Mt. Tam (Bootjack) at Woodside Park and Ride or at BootJack Mt. Tam, Marin

August 6, 2011 from 7am to 11:30am
This Saturday we travel to Marin and Mt. Tam to join the friendly trail runners of BARF (Bob & Rick's Fun runs) on one of their favorite routes on the upper slopes of Mt. Tam. Monthly Trail Run Reminder: This Saturday morning - Portola State Park

This Saturday, PARC's Monthly Trail Run heads to Portola State Park, little visited and remote, where the deep Redwood Forest offers an excellent trail surface, huge trees, lush ferns, and flowing creeks. The Park's geology is also interesting with natural oil seeps visible in some spots. While remote, Palo Alto is the closest large city to Portola making it, in a way, our sister park. Car pooling for this somewhat remote drive is a great idea, so hope you can join us. Full details at:…See More

Trail Run This Saturday - Foothill & Arastredro Parks - Wildflowers!

I just now updated the April Trail Run page with detailed trail directionsAnd here are FIVE GREAT REASONS to consider joining us on Saturday morning: 1) The hills are fabulously green right now and our wildflower guide, Jenifer, will point out the many varieties along the way. 2) This is the FIRST OPPORTUNITY to get a PARC POKER card for the club's just announced tournament (running not required to get a…See More

May 2011 Monthly Trail Run

In May the Monthly Trail Run ventures deep into the Santa Cruz Mountains directly over the 'hill' from Palo Alto. The dense forest will protect us from the Summer sun. We last ran Portola in '08.
