Thanks to Ron and David for organizing today's trail run at Rodeo Beach, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of The Marine Mammal Center. We had 12+ people join me for a quick peek into the animal care area and were fortunate to watch the veterinary staff performing an ultrasound on the heart of a 160Kg (~350 pound) adult male California sea lion (see photo).…

For whatever reason, we're experiencing a growth spurt: just over 250 members (through January). A brief glance at the club data base garners these snippets: 

    37% female; 63% male

    Average age = 41 (ranging from 22 to 72)

    44% joined within the last year

    28% list Palo Alto as their mailing address

and

    37% use a Gmail address
