Monthly Trail Run - Big Basin & Berry Creek Falls

Sunday January 17th, 2016
In January PARC's Monthly Trail Run joins with the Quicksilver Trail Runners and The Steven's Creek Striders as we all head to Big Basin for a social-pace run on the Berry Creek Falls loop. The mostly single-track loop covers about 10 miles, with nearly 2,200 feet of elevation gain, and passes several splendid waterfalls (yes the pic is real....) as its single track trails wander thru astounding redwood groves.

For carpooling from PA, let's meet at 7:20am at the Park & Ride lot at Page Mill and 280 - https://goo.gl/maps/pTkz3S42LY22 - for a 7:30am (sharp) departure. We'll then drive to meet the other groups at 7:45 in the main parking lot of Saratoga High School - https://goo.gl/maps/4ft5b4GNjxG2 - for an 8am departure. Or, of course, feel free to proceed to Big Basin on your own. The drive from Palo Alto takes just over an hour - https://goo.gl/maps/jaxCuBiGNsF2.
We plan to be on the trails shortly after 9am and will follow Coastal Trail Runs 15km (pink) loop from this map - http://www.coastaltrailruns.com/images/bcf_course_map.gif

Please bring gear appropriate for cool and damp conditions, as well as water, snacks, and a trail map. Trail running shoes suggested as it will be a bit slick for road shoes. Check out the park brochure: http://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/540/files/BigBasinRedwoodsFinalWeb2015.pdf
