May Trail Run
Angel Island & Dim Sum
Sunday, May 23, 2010
It's a trail run... it's a street run... there's a ferry ride (two, actually)... it's on an island... and... there's dim sum!
When   Sunday, May 23, 2010, Carpools leave PA at 7:30am and return 3:50pm.
Where   Angel Island and San Francisco Chinatown.
How   This is a members-only event (non-members -- just go ahead and join PARC -- if only so that you can attend this event!). If you did not get the email sent to members registered on the PARC Yahoo! Group, just send an email to Gregg Levin and he will send you a detailed itinerary.
What   A 5-mile summit run (killer views!) followed by optional 2-mile, 3-mile or 5.6-mile runs around the island's perimeter passing the US Immigration Center, Fort McDowell, the Nike Missile site, and even more attractions. Or, you can skip the summit run and just do the perimeter run and check out the attractions. Also, two 1-mile runs through the streets of SF, between Chinatown and both of the ferry docks in San Francisco.
This is a (not too) remote trail run, still each runner must carry at least one water bottle.
It should be pretty easy to avoid getting too lost on Angel Island, since, after all, it is an island. Still, we encourage people to stick together with others of similiar runnning pace.
There will not be the usual runner's potluck after the run, since we will be heading over to Chinatown for (no host -- we all share the bill) dim sum afterwards.
Trail Directions
Trail directions will be available at the run.
