Our first trail run of the year takes us to the Santa Cruz Mountains above Saratoga and features spectacular views and a waterfall.
When Sunday, January 10, 2010. Meet at 8:15am for an 8:30am start. Carpooling is encouraged. To carpool, meet at 7:40am in the Costco parking lot on Rengstorff Avenue in Mountain View near 101. We meet in the area of the parking lot that is close to the McDonalds.
Where Castle Rock State Park, 15000 Skyline Blvd, Los Gatos, CA 95030. There is limited free parking on the side of Skyline Blvd next to the park entrance. Inside there is an
$8 per vehicle parking fee (note increase).

How to get there Take 101 or 280 South to 85 South. Follow 85 south and exit at Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. Follow Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road south to Saratoga, turn right on Highway 9 toward Saratoga Gap. At Saratoga Gap turn left on Skyline Blvd. (Hwy 35) and follow it for 2.3 miles to the park entrance.

What A long run (9.2 miles) and an intermediate run (about 6.5 miles). These are remote trail runs and each runner must carry at least one water bottle. As usual, there will be a potluck after the run, so please bring food or drink to share.
Why See the waterfall at Castle Rock. Watch the rock climbers. Run along a cliff with beautiful views over the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Pacific.
