Stevens Creek County Park/Fremont Older OSP

This month we are going to run together with our neighbors from the Steven Creek Striders.
When Saturday, November 1, 2008. Meet at 8:15am for an 8:30am start. Carpool will leave at 7:50am from the Park & Ride lot at Page Mill Rd. and 280.
Where Stevens Creek County Park / Fremont Older Open Space Preserve, 11401 Stevens Canyon Rd., Cupertino, CA 95014. There is a $6 parking fee. Info on Stevens Creek County park can be found here. More info on Fremont Older OSP can be found here.
How to get there: Take Interstate Highway 280 to Foothill Expressway. Follow Foothill Blvd. west three miles to the northern park entrance (Foothill Blvd. changes into Stevens Canyon Road as it crosses McClellan Road). The park entrance is on the left hand side of the road (Google Maps). If you see the dam and Stevens Creek Reservoir you have gone too far. We will meet in the first parking lot.
What A long run (about 10.8 miles, 1000 feet of climbing) and a short run (about 6.2 miles, 600 feet of climbing). This is a remote trail run and each runner must carry at least one water bottle. To avoid having to search for lost runners we ask every runner to find other runners of approximately the same running ability to form a group. The runners in each group must be able to account for their partners to make sure nobody is lost. After the run the Striders usually go for brunch at Hobees restaurant in Cupertino. We are welcome to join them. The usual post-run potluck is not planned for this monthly trail run.
Why A park close to Palo Alto. Multiple vista points with views of Santa Clara Valley and Stevens Creek Reservoir. An opportunity to run with the Stevens Creek Striders.
