May Trail Run
Huddart County Park
Saturday, May 3, 2008
In May we return to a popular venue close to Palo Alto where we'll try out some new routes. Soft trails through heavy forests provide an opportunity for enjoyable running year round.
When   Saturday, May 3, 2008. Meet at 8:15am for an 8:30am start.
Because of the proximity of Palo Alto to Hudddart Park, there will not be an organized carpool. You are encouraged to carpool with other runners in your area, both to conserve resources and save on parking fees ($5 per car at Huddart Park). Contact for help finding someone to carpool with.
Where   Meet at the Zwierlein parking lot in Huddart County Park, 1100 King's Mountain Road Woodside, CA 94062. More information about the parks can be found at Huddart Park and Phleger Estate.
Take 280 north to Woodside Road (84). Exit and turn left (west) on Woodside Road and follow it for about 1.5 miles through the town of Woodside. Turn right on King's Mountain Road and go about 3 miles to the Huddart Park entrance. Pay $5 parking fee and drive to the Zwierlein parking lot. Google estimates the driving time from Lucy Stern Center to be 25 minutes.
What   An intermediate run (6.3 miles) and a long run (9.9 miles) within Huddart Park, and a longer run (12.1 miles) spanning both parks. These are remote trail runs and so each runner is encouraged to carry at least one water bottle. Potable water is available at the start only. To avoid having to search for lost runners we ask that runners of approximately the same ability and ambition form groups and be accountable for group members. There will be a potluck after the run, so please bring a healthy drink or snack to share.
