July Trail Run
Wunderlich County Park
Saturday, July 12, 2008
We return to one of our most popular routes, Wunderlich Park in Woodside, for our July Trail Run. Wunderlich's trails are 99% shaded making this an ideal summer morning run. Also, this run is close to Palo Alto. The intermediate route is shorter than usual making this a good run for beginning trail runners. And the variety of interconnecting trails allow for on-the-run route creation to accommodate runs of whatever distance is right for you.
Also B.A.R.F (the infamous East Bay mostly weekly trail run group) comes over to the Pennisula to join us for this popular run. This is our 5th annual meetup with B.A.R.F.
NOTE: To avoid conflicts with the Independence Day Holiday the July monthly trail run is on the second weekend of the month.
When   Saturday, July 12, 2008. Meet at 8:15am for an 8:30am start. Carpool will leave at 7:45am from the Park&Ride lot at 280 and Page Mill Road.
Where   Wunderlich County Park, 4040 Woodside Rd, Woodside CA 94062. There is no parking fee. More park info can be found here.
How   to get there... Take 280 North to Woodside Road (Highway 84). Continue West on Woodside Road thru the small business district and around the bend to the South. At 3 miles after leaving 280 the park entrance is on the right hand side. Google Maps
This is a short drive but please carpool as the parking lot fills up later in the morning. If we don't carpool, then the lot fills with PARC cars blocking access by others.
What   A long (about 10.2 miles, 2000 feet vertical) and an intermediate run (about 4.7 miles, 800 feet vertical).
This is a remote trail run and each runner must carry at least one water bottle.
To avoid having to search for lost runners we ask every runner to find other runners of approximately the same running ability to form a group. The runners in each group must be able to account for their partners to make sure no one is left behind.
As usual, there will be a potluck after the run, so please bring food or drink to share.
