September Trail Run
Wunderlich County Park

NOTE: To avoid collision with the Labor Day Holiday the September monthly trail run is on the second Sunday of the month.
When   Sunday September 11, 2005. Meet at 8:15am for an 8:30am start. Carpool will leave at 7:45am from the Park&Ride lot at 280 and Page Mill Road.
Where   Wunderlich County Park, 4040 Woodside Rd, Woodside CA 94062. There is no parking fee. More park info can be found here.
Take 280 North to Sand Hill Road. Take Sand Hill Road west to Portola Road. Turn right onto Portola Road. Continue on Portola Road to Woodside Road (Highway 84). Continue on Woodside Road (East/North) to the park entrance on the left hand side after a short distance.
What   A long (about 10.24 miles, 2000 feet vertical) and a short run (about 4.69 miles, 800 feet vertical). This is a remote trail run and each runner must carry at least one water bottle. To avoid having to search for lost runners we ask every runner to find other runners of approximately the same running ability to form a group. The runners in each group must be able to account for their partners to make sure nobody is lost. As usual, there will be a potluck after the run, so please bring food or drink to share.
Why   Dense forests with lots of shade. Gentle slopes. The uphill comes before the downhill this time. Site is second closest to Palo Alto of all PARC monthly trail runs this year. Site of a stable built for coffee producer James Folger.
